Tracy Mourning, former Miami Heat All Store, Alonzo Mounring’s ex wife was arrested for DUI early Fri morning, according to police. After speeding on 2 occasions and failing to fully stop at a red light near Old Cutler Road and San Servano Avenue, police pulled her over.
She asked the officer why she had been pulled over. When the officer told her why she winked, but did not deny driving over the speed limit or running the red light. She failed a roadside sobriety test that an officer performed on her after noticing she smelled like alcohol.
Friday was Alonzo Mourning’s 42nd birthday.

A study, conducted by Northern Kentucky University, recently found that after 40 minutes, participants who drank vodka mixed with diet soda had a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of 18% higher then participants who drank vodka with regular soda.
In addition, the found that after 3 drinks mixed with diet, the subjects BAC exceeded the legal limit for driving. A 2006 study suggests that artificial sweeteners in diet soda speed the absorption of alcohol.
Dennis L. Thombs, co-author of the latest study, noted that the stomach seems to treat sugar-sweetened beverages like food, which delays the stomach from emptying.
“The best way to think about these effects is that sugar-sweetened alcohol mixers slow down the absorption of alcohol into bloodstream,” he explains. “Artificially sweetened alcohol mixers do not really elevate alcohol intoxication. Rather, the lack of sugar simply allows the rate of alcohol absorption to occur without hindrance.”
