Donte Stallworth suspended for 2009 NFL season

Earlier in March this year, Cleveland Browns Donte Stallworth struck and killed a man while he was driving under the influence. Roger Goodell, commisioner of the NFL, has announced that he will be suspended without pay for the 2009 season, citing drug and substance abuse policies. Stallworth will not be involved in any activity for the team, and will not be allowed to play again until after the 2010 Superbowl in Feb. He pleaded guilty to manslaughter in a Florida courtroom, and was sentanced to 30 days in jail, but was released after only 24. Stallworth said he knows he has caused irreprible harm to the family of the man he killed, and was willing to accept any punishment from the NFL.
