A recent study suggests that millions of women drink alcohol before having sex because they lack confidence in their bodies. Almost half of the women questions said they preferred sex while they were under the influence of alcohol because it helped them to loosen up, have less inhibitions, and be more adventurous. The Herald Sun reports that of the 3000 women surveyed from ages 18-50 had slept with an average of 8 guys, but were durnk for at least 5 of them. 4 out of 10 said that they were under the influence when sleeping with a partner for the first time. The study went on to find that 75% of women liked to drink before sleeping with their husband or boyfriend, and 6% said they had never had sex sober. More then half claimed that drinking with their potential sexual partner was “part of the dating process”. Kathryn Lakeland of Femfresh, which conducted the study, said the results showed women lacked confidence. She went on to say, “The fact alcohol plays an integral role in their love lives shows that women are looking for a boost in self-esteem when it comes to their bedroom antics,” and ” in doing so many women will be losing self-control, and this is when drunken one-night stands are more likely to occur.”

California has an evergrowing problem with repeat drunk drivers. Right now there are over 300,000 drivers that have THREE or more DUI conviction, and 40,000 of those have FIVE or more convictions. In 2007, drunk drivers were involved in more then 53,000 accidents, killing over 1500 people in California. It is statistics like these that show a need for a new, better way to combat drunk driving. We need to fight this problem at its source, the establishment where people are drinking. Drunk driving accidents account for around 20% of all auto insurance payments in California.

London- A Turk man was officially named as the world’s tallest man this past Thursday after his Ukrainian rival refused to be measured and dropped out of the running. Sultan Kosen, frmo a town called Mardin in eastern Turkey, was announced by Guinness Book of World Records to be the tallest man walknig the planet. The previous record holder, Ukrainian Leonid Stadnyk, supposedly measured 8 ft 5.5 inches. Stadnyk told the AP that he did not want to be measured independantly because it would cause him to be in the public eye, and he would rather live a calm life. He said if the title would give him more life and better health, he wouldve taken it. Kosen, on the other hand, told reporters in London that he hoped his new fame would help him to find a girlfriend, since he has never had one.

Harry Potter was recently added to the Wizardly World of Records as the youngest quiddtch player, and now its actor Daniel Radcliffe has made it into the Guinness Book of World Records. What was he added for? He was added for being the highest grossing lead actor of the decade. He was accompanied into the Guinness Book of World Records with his costar Emma Watson, known as Hermione in the Harry Potter movies. Emma was entered into the book with the highest gross income of over 750 million dollars. In other world records, Miley Cyrus was the highest earning child star with an income of 25 million, while Nicole Kidman was listed as being the most overpaid actress.

Milwaukee- Daniel Samplaski, age 35, was spotted by deputies in Milwaukee around 2:30 in the morning in heaving fog. He was heading east on the Marquette Interchange when they reportedly saw him in one of the lanes in his motorized wheelchair. He was taken into custody for DUI after he blew a .23, which is nearly 3 times the legal limit, in a portable breathalyzer.

It is Tila Tequila season, but not the reality tv show. This time she is claiming that her boyfriend and NFL star Shawne Merriman tried to choke her. According to Merriman’s lawyer, he was trying to keep an intoxicated Tequila from leaving the apartment and getting into a car to drive. Tila claims via Twitter that this is not true, and that she is allergic to alcohol, and it has been public for years, going on to say she CANT drink.
Merriman responded with the statement ,” At the time, I was concerned about her welfare given the intoxicated state she appeared to be in and I encouraged her to stay until safe transportation could be provided.” To further support his claim, James Brennan, the owner of the Stingaree nightclub where they were at prior to the incident, does not agree with Tila’s claim that she hadnt been drinking. Several of his employees claim to have seen Tila Tequila taking shots of vodka and non other then …tequila. Doesnt is seem like that would be the Tila Tequila shot? Guess Merriman didnt get the Tila Tequila shot of love. Brennan went on the tell the AP ” She wasn’t like falling down or anything of that nature, but she was visibly intoxicated” and further ” it sounds like she is allergic to the truth”

”Granite City man with five prior DUIs accepted the maximum sentence Tuesday for driving drunk in a 91-mph crash that killed a young couple and their unborn child.
Donald W. Canterbery, 57, received a 28-year prison sentence in exchange for pleading guilty to aggravated drunken driving and related charges. He pleaded guilty to driving drunk in a February wreck in Pontoon Beach that killed Adam Zimmer, 26, and his wife, Lindsey Arnold-Zimmer, 24, both of Granite City. Arnold-Zimmer was five months pregnant.
The couple’s relatives filled the prosecution side of the courtroom Tuesday for a change-of-plea hearing. They issued a prepared statement afterward, saying they’re pleased with the sentance”

In case you dont already, Tap Out is a multi-million dollar company that has exploded with the popularity of the UFC. The company was started by 3 friends, who would wear constumes, makeup, and crazy clothes at every event. They were in character, and it paid off when the UFC exploded. Chuck Liddell was even known to sleep on the floor of the Masks rooms for his earlier fights. Sadly, Charles “mask” Lewis was killed in a drunk driving accidcent earlier this year. Jeffrey Kirby pleaded no contest to his charges, and the prosecutors are seeking an 18 year sentance. Kirby had 2 prior DUI’s. He clipped Lewis’ Ferrari while traveling around 100mph, which caused it to spin out of control and crash, killing Lewis. Kirby’s BAC level was .13 hours after the crash still.

SALABERRY-DE-VALLEYFIELD, Quebec — Roger Walsh, 57, was sentanced to life in prison by a Quebec judge recently. It was the 19th conviction for drunk driving, according to the courts. This is the first time that a life sentance has been given by a judge for a drunk driving conviction, says Prosecutor Joey Davis. Walsh struck and killed Anee Khudaverdian on her 47th birthday last year. Khudaverdian, who was in a wheel chair, was out walking her dog when she was struck by Walsh and sent into a ditch. After the incident, Walsh drove away until he was arrested almost 6 miles away after driving himself into a ditch. The Judge, Michel Mercier, declared the man incorrigible and said it was likely that he would commit further crimes. In all, Walsh has 19 impaired driving convictions, and 114 other convictions ranging from assault, threats, breaking and entering, and even theft. The prosecution was only asking for a 10 year sentance, but the judge thought this deserved a life sentance. It is unclear whether or not Walsh will appeal.

On Sat, Sept 19th, it is going to be Long Beach Day because we are going to bring a record back to America! When it comes to worlds of records, Guinness World of Records is the leader! We at Dont Die Drunk have paired up with Shore Ultra Lounge in Long Beach and are attempting to break the Guinness World Record for the world biggest group of people to take a group shot at once!! The current record is 1300 people in Germany taking a shot of corn schnapps, so we have prepared 1500 shots for free for anyone who shows up! There will be a $10 cover to get in, but a majority of that is being donated back to Dont Die Drunk. The doors open at 8, and the shot is at 10:30 sharp, get there early because its going to hit capacity fast!! Our last attempt brought over 1000 people, and this record shot is looking like it will hit 1500 no problem. The shots are going to be mixed with Belvedere, who have sponsored the event and provided us with the alcohol!! Although not all records of guinness are put in the book, the best ones are, so lets make it happen Long Beach!
