Testing Ozzys DNA, asking “How Is He Still Alive?”

How is Ozzy Osbourne, the 61 year old self proclaimed Prince of Darkness, still alive? That is the question a St. Louis genetics firm is trying to answer by testing his DNA. It is no secret that Ozzy Osbourne, frontman for Black Sabbath, lived the “fast life” for years, smoking, taking drugs, and drinking alcohol. Even Ozzy said he was curious as to how he is still alive! Maybe it has something to do with when he bit the head off a bat on stage during a concert.

Scientist hope to see if there is something different about his DNA that has enabled him to live longer and continue to party, when so many other rockstars (and celebrities) have died. The rocker is said to be giving blood to the genetics firm on Thursday. Jon Armstrong of Cofactor Genomics said: “one of the interesting things would be to take the variation in his DNA sample and compare that to patients that have had cancer and patients that have passed away from other diseases.”
